SPECIALS
TARGET AMERICA
World Premiere:
Thursday, June 1, 8 PM
Most Americans are familiar with the major
offensives of World War II – in Europe, North
Africa and the Pacific. Far less familiar are
the episodes in which the enemy attempted to
bring the fight to America. Throughout the
war, both Germany and Japan sought out and
attempted to execute ways to attack America on
her homelands.
DAY AFTER D-DAY
World Premiere: Wednesday,
June 7, 8 PM
The DAY AFTER D-DAY is D-Day plus
three - the crucial 72 hours following the June
6 invasion, as told by combat veterans who
fought in the villages, beaches, hedgerows and
bridgeheads of Normandy. Viewers hear firsthand
accounts of their battles against a desperate
foe seeking to drive the Allied forces back into
the sea. Their memories and stories will take us
beyond the battlefields to a journey into the
heart and soul of these once young warriors.
COAST GUARD AT WAR
World Premiere: Thursday,
June 22, 8 PM
Most military accounts of the Vietnam War
emphasize the role of the Army, the Marine Corps
and the Air Force. During the war, little
attention was paid to operations to prevent
coastal and river infiltration by communist
forces. The Coast Guardsmen that fought in the
war are practically forgotten. |

ONGOING SERIES
BATTLEPLAN: SPECIAL OPERATIONS
World Premiere:
Tuesday, June 20, 8 PM
Special
Operations are the cutting edge of modern
warfare – they cover everything from
intelligence gathering or raiding to the
achievement of major strategic objectives. This
episode looks at the first sustained use of
special operations - the campaign in France to
support D-Day, and at the crucial Special Forces
operation in northern Iraq in 2002 when modern
technology brought a major change in the way
Special Forces operate. |
